An imagined stone bothy looks over still water beneath steep mountain ridges. Warm windows glow as mist drifts across the lake. An imagined timber lookout above a fern-covered clearing, framed by layered pines. A small bird flits between the trees by day; an owl glides through at night. Mist moves through the valley. An imagined domed observatory on a high dune crest above the Bristol Channel, beneath a wide rose-to-violet sky. Marram grass and a line of sand fencing hold the dunes. A kestrel hovers by day; at night the dome shows a red working light and meteors cross the sky. An imagined corner of Manchester's canals at dusk. Brick warehouses stand along a canal, a humped brick bridge carries the towpath over the mouth of a canal arm, and a narrowboat is moored along the quay. A railway viaduct runs behind with a tram crossing it. Another narrowboat slowly passes, and after dark the windows, the lamp and the boats glow on the water. An imagined timber cabin in deep snow near Braemar, between two bare birches, with a belt of snowy pines and the white Cairngorm ridges beyond. Smoke rises from the chimney and snow showers come and go. At night the snow turns blue under the moon and the windows throw warm light across it.
